• The TRD 86 Cup’s first ever female competitor, Reema Juffali prepares to compete in the next season of Formula 4 in the United Kingdom.

Yas Marina Circuit will host the finale to another exciting calendar of local motorsport weekends this Friday as the curtain closes on the 2018-2019 season.

The Circuit will welcome back for the fifth and final time Yas Racing Series, which was created to develop and nurture local motorsport talent.

Yas Marina Circuit’s fifth season of its single-make championship – the TRD 86 Cup – will draw to a close on Friday and has proved to be an incubator and proving ground for drivers from the region.

Providing a platform for young motor racing talent, the competition has already opened doors for the series’ only female competitor, Reema Juffali. In a perfectly timed announcement just after International Woman’s Day on 8th March, she revealed that she will join Double R Racing with a seat in the 2019 season of Formula 4 in the UK.

This Friday will present her with a final chance to outdo her fellow competitors and she will be going all out to sign off her TRD 86 Cup drive with a hard-charging performance.

Across the season, we have witnessed some superb head-to-head racing as every driver has competed to top the leaderboard across each round.

The two races throughout the day will provide the final decider and see who takes top honours at the inaugural TRD 86 Cup Award Presentation on Friday evening. Held at the Luna Lounge at Yas Conference Centre, the first-time ceremony will celebrate the fifth season milestone and honour the achievements of the most outstanding drivers across a range of categories.

Also featuring on Friday is the popular UAE Time Attack competition. With an against-the-clock format, the series of heats will see the racers put their technical skills to the test in a bid to drive the fastest lap and find the perfect racing line around the iconic F1® track.

Off-track, race fans of all ages will get the change to enjoy an Official Track Tour on Friday at 12:30pm. Yas Marina Circuit’s expert instructors will lift the lid on what it takes to be an expert racer, offer insights into each track section and revealing all the tricks of the trade, including correct gear selections and speeds.

For those who like get up close and personal with the drivers and their race-prepared cars, don’t miss out on the Organised Garage Tour. Starting from 12:45pm on Friday, visitors can get the chance to get behind the scenes of a busy racing pit garage and see how the grid magic happens.

A range of Yas Marina Circuit Karting or Driving Experience prizes will be up for grabs in the Pit Stop Challenge. Taking place in Suite 6 of the Paddock, the Pit Stop Challenge pits competitors against each other and the clock in a race to see who can change a tyre the fastest. Perfect for teams or individuals, do you have what it takes to take the podium and the prizes in this fiendishly pressured technical competition?
