Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club member Weihan Xu used all his experience around his home Sharjah Track as he held his lead which he established at the start of week four to claim the title for the GolfWorld sponsored Ramadan Stableford Series by a staggering ten points. The Ramadan Stableford Series was open to all golfers with valid handicaps everyday throughout the course of Ramadan with golfers overall score being the best 5 rounds from as many 9 hole games as they had played. The event was also kindly sponsored by the clubs Pro Shop Company GolfWorld who provided some fantastic daily prizes along with over all prizes of a Ping G Driver, Titleist 917 Fairway wood and a Titleist Vokey SM6 Wedge.

Weijan Xu was a late competitor to the GolfWorld Ramadan Stableford Series, as his first round in the event was played in the third week. He came into the event with a bang and posted three great scores, moving ever closer to the top of the leader board and challenging the third week leader Sinar Suraj. Following the edition of two good rounds at the start of week four Weijan moved himself into first place in the point’s standings and set the bar for everyone else in the GolfWorld Ramadan Stableford Series.

Accepting Weijan’s challenge with great enthusiasm was Purna Sharma, he surmounted the charge at Weijan’s forth week scores and did all he could to take the top spot and claim the first place prize and 2017 GolfWorld Ramadan Stableford Series champion title. Purna played eight time over Ramadan and scored and impressive collective score of 97 points, a score which would have taken the top prize on many other years. However this year he would have to settle for second place for his efforts. Falling just two points behind Purna’s RSS score was defending champion Yousef Al Ali. Yousef showed just how much he want to retain his mantel as the GolfWorld Ramadan Stableford Series Champion and played an impressive fifteen times throughout the series, posted an overall score of 95 points to take third place in the 2017 series.

The 2017 GolfWorld Ramadan Series has certainly been one to remember with some incredible golf, great stories and lasting memories for all involved. The event saw over 60 different golfers teeing it up at some point during the month and a whopping 160 plus nine hole competitive rounds of golf.
