- Higher Committee holds first meeting to formulate activity agenda
The Higher Committee of National Day Celebrations in Sharjah recently held a meeting to kick-off planning and preparations for the UAE’s 46th National Day celebrations.
Held at Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), the meeting was attended by HE Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of SCTDA and Chairman of the Higher Committee of 46th National Day Celebrations in Sharjah; HE Tariq Al Naqbi, Director of Sharjah Media Center and Deputy Chairman of the Higher Committee of 46th National Day Celebrations in Sharjah; Essam Mohammed Khalifa, Head of the Activities Committee; Alaa Aawan, Head of the Finance Committee; Khulood Al Junaibi, Head of the Marketing and Advertising Committee; Major Mohammed Abdullah Allay Al Naqbi, Head of the Security Committee; Wahida Abdul Aziz, Member of the Activities Committee; Doa Al Hussein, Member and General Coordinator of the Committee.
Several Sharjah Municipality representatives including, Juma Abdullah Al Hamoudi from Dibba Al Hisn; Salem bin Harb Al Shamisi from Al Hamriyah; Salem Abdullah bin Swaidan from Kalba; Khalifa Saif Al Tonaiji from Al Dhaid; and Rashid Al Maghni from Khorfakkan were among the meeting’s attendees.
“This meeting to commence the preparations for National Day forms part of Sharjah National Day Committee’s commitment to ensure an outstanding celebrations programme in the emirate – one that will amply reflect the UAE’s great achievements as well as befit the significance of the day for the nation’s Emirati’s and residents alike,” said HE Khalid Jassim Al Midfa.
“A line-up of premium activities will highlight the allegiance and loyalty Sharjah shares with its sister emirates, and will aim to recognise the pivotal role played by the nation’s wise leadership in making the UAE one of the fastest growing nations of the world,” he added.
Commending the unmatched efforts of the Committee in turning the 45th National Day celebrations into a huge success, Al Midfa explored key suggestions and recommendations for this year’s celebrations. He said that 2017’s activities schedule will include promotional workshops celebrating authentic Emirati culture, as well as discussion panels to enhance interaction and community spirit among the emirate’s residents.
HE Tariq Al Naqbi addressed this year’s committee’s main tasks which focus on holding premium activities in Sharjah’s cities and regions, emphasizing the importance of using the committee’s logo in all activities.
The Committee also revealed that one or more representatives of from each sub-committee will prepare a promotional plan for the upcoming edition, with a slogan and a logo for campaign inspired by this year’s national theme, ‘UAE Year of Giving 2017’, announced by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.Email This Post
