Ramadan’s unique drink of choice, Vimto Cordial is celebrating its 91st season this year, marking the centennial countdown.
Since its introduction to the Middle East region in 1928 by the Aujan family, Vimto Cordial has become the preferred choice among drinks around Iftar (break-fast) after a long day of fasting. The brand grew to become a symbol of family togetherness, a solid tradition kept from one generation to the next.
In line with this year’s Ramadan campaign, #vimtocometogether, Aujan Coca-Cola Beverages Company (ACCBC) has worked very closely with their retail partners across the region to “illuminate” the Ramadan basket shopping experience.
“Coming together is not a motto for our campaign only, it is synonymous with the experience that having Vimto around the family Iftar table enables”. Said Meshal Alkadeeb, the Marketing and Business Development director at ACCBC. “We think of it as a humble celebration, a small beacon, that families, from all social classes and origin, can count on happening every Iftar. This year, we wanted to stretch the experience to in-store as well, via illuminating the shopping experience for Ramadan.”
The ACCBC team has successfully built number of iconic displays in the form of famous structures like Burj Khalifa, Makkah Royal Clock Tower, etc. across the region creating excitement in-store.
The Vimto brand team has also been busy in developing different experiences for Vimto fans around the region. 2017, marks the third year that ACCBC collaborated with high-fashion retail houses such as Bloomingdales in Dubai and Kuwait, and Swarovski, to develop a premium and personalized Vimto bottles. “The concept has enabled a unique gifting occasion between families around the holy month”, Meshal added.
