With inspired cuisine, a striking design and impeccable service, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of the dazzling Dubai Marina skyline, Maiden Shanghai is set to take Dubai’s culinary scene by storm when it opens its doors on 4 May. Located in the city’s hottest new hotel, Viceroy Palm Jumeirah Dubai, Maiden Shanghai pairs Chef Luo Bing’s fresh take on Chinese cuisine with a vibrant energy and enticing atmosphere for an exciting new dining destination for locals and guests alike.
The first F&B venture from SKAI and helmed by Chef Luo Bing, formerly Head Chef of the renowned Hutong in London, Maiden Shanghai presents a tempting blend of traditional dishes and a creative rendition of classics. Taking guests on a culinary journey through China, the exquisite menu takes inspiration and flavours from four types of Chinese cuisine – Cantonese, Sichuan, Shanghai and Beijing – using the finest ingredients and expert techniques to create timeless yet innovative signature dishes.
Menu highlights include Pickled Salmon, Bing’s Peking Duck, Kung Pao Lobster, Chilean Seabass and Boom Boom Chicken, whilst a selection of dim sum is ideal for lunch or a light bite. A well-crafted drinks menu accompanies. Maiden Shanghai will also serve a special business lunch catering to diners from Media City, Jumeirah Lakes Towers and surrounding areas.
Aloki Batra, Managing Director, SKAI said; “We are excited to open Maiden Shanghai, bringing a home-grown Chinese concept to Dubai. With Chef Luo Bing at the helm, we look forward to ensuring it becomes a coveted culinary destination in the city and believe this flagship restaurant is a great start to our new F&B venture.”
Spread over three floors, eating, drinking and dancing can be enjoyed under one roof at this hybrid destination, with something to delight the senses and fire the imagination of every guest. An elegant restaurant beckons with a lively yet refined ambience before heading upstairs to continue the night with creative cocktails and chilled beats. A stunning rooftop lounge offers an elevated experience, with panoramic views sparking excitement all day long and late into the night, making it the perfect spot for sundowners or mingling under the stars. Those seeking more intimate dining or looking to celebrate can choose from one of three private dining rooms. Encased in glass, guests can still enjoy the buzz of the restaurant as well as vistas across the city, with private terraces providing a stylish setting for a drinks reception or alfresco dining.
Designed to make the most of the stunning views, the unique space features floor-to-ceiling windows framing the dramatic Dubai skyline. Inspired by Chinese history throughout the ages, the sophisticated décor skilfully blends the old with the new, with a fresh and contemporary colour palette of bronze, teal and white alongside a carefully curated collection of antique chandeliers, lanterns and other decorative features, all sourced from vintage stores across the world. Artwork by Joe Joe Ngai adorns the walls, showcasing some of China’s iconic figures including Sun Yat-sen, the first president and the founding father of the Republic of China, and Anna May Wong, who is widely considered the first Chinese American movie star.
