During his meeting with Dr. El Hassane HZAINE, Director General of Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT), H.E Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Center Sharjah and Chairman of UFI’s MEA Chapter stressed on the importance of developing and activating trade among Islamic countries- members of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. For this end, competent parties need to cooperate on organising joint business exhibitions among all Islamic countries in order to develop trade relations among these countries.
Al Midfa also praised the exceptional and close relations between Expo Centre Sharjah and the ICDT. Headquartered in Casablanca, Morocco, ICDT is among the major trade organizations globally, with 57 member-states throughout the Islamic world.
During the meeting, both parties discussed methods of developing cooperation; including organizing Islamic trade fairs serving the Halal industry. Al Midfa asserted that Expo Centre Sharjah is committed to supporting this vital sector in collaboration with Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI). The Halal market is witnessing high demand and the UAE plays an active role with this regard as an international hub for Halal business.
For his part, Dr. El Hassane HZAINE officially invited HE Al Midfa to take part in the meetings of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation that will be held in Morocco in October. He also called for organizing the 2018 Meeting of the Arabian Gulf Chapter of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events at the ICDT Headquarters in Casablanca. In addition to that, he invited the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry to organize training and education courses at the ICDT Headquarter with special focus on the arts and etiquettes of organizing trade fairs.Email This Post
