- Chef Pepi Anevski’s sushi-making skills set to impress Muscat
Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa is delighted to welcome the return of World Sushi Champion Chef Pepi Anevski for another exclusive visit at Bait Al Bahr from 13 – 19 February.
Chef Pepi’s sushi creations will be available at Bait Al Bahr during dinner service from 13 – 19 February with a curated menu created by the chef exclusively for his visiting stint at Oman’s most scenic seafood restaurant. The Chef’s special menu is priced OMR11++ for a selection of sushi pieces featuring fresh catch caught straight from the Gulf of Oman.
Originally from Macedonia, but now based in Denmark, Chef Pepi has received many awards and even came first place at the World Sushi Cup 2013 in Tokyo. He studied classic Japanese sushi education in Chiba, Japan and is accredited as a Sushi Head Chef by AJSA (All Japan Sushi Association) and the World Sushi Skills Institute.
Currently working as Executive Sushi Manager at Attic Salt Group, previously Head of Sushi International where he created and developed menus for over 200 restaurants across the globe. Previously he worked in renowned Japanese restaurants Umami, Ebisu and Etika.
Speaking ahead of his visit to Bait Al Bahr, Chef Pepi said: “What I bring to the table is a solid understanding of cultural differences, a strong track record of working cross functional and understanding of the whole value chain from raw product to the customer’s plate. I am looking forward to another successful guest chef stint at Bait Al Bahr in February.”
Located at Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa, just 20 minutes from the centre of Muscat, Bait Al Bahr overlooks 500 metres of sandy beach and is nestled against the dramatic backdrop of rugged mountains.
