Tiger Group pledges 100,000 meals for the World’s Tallest Donation Box

As donations continue to pour in for the World’s Tallest Donation Box, Tiger Group pledged 100,000 meals, lighting up 100,000 pixels on Burj Khalifa in support for Covid-19-hit communities.

Tiger Group’s Dh1 million donation contributes to illuminating Burj Khalifa’s 1.2 million lights to secure 1.2 million meals and food parcels for the ’10 million meals’ campaign that supports individuals and families affected by the covid-19 pandemic during Ramadan.

Launched on Saturday, the World’s Tallest Donation Box enables companies, entities and the public to purchase lights of Burj Khalifa, for as little as Dh10 each. For every light purchased for Dh10 through the website www.tallestdonationbox.com, one meal is provided to someone in need, with the ultimate goal to illuminate the 1.2 million lights on the façade of the world’s tallest building in solidarity with communities hard hit by the pandemic globally.

Waleed Al Zoubi, Chairman of Tiger Group, said, “The UAE has offered everyone living on its land with countless opportunities. Through our contribution to the World’s Tallest Donation Box, we aim to beat hunger and support the country’s humanitarian initiatives towards improving lives. The initiative and its overarching ’10 million meals’ campaign have encouraged everyone across the country from individuals to entities and corporations to get involved for everyone.”

He added, “It’s great to see innovation applied in humanitarian and social initiatives. The idea of lighting up Burj Khalifa to support the vulnerable at this particular time has attracted widespread admiration and engagement for its creativity.”

Under the supervision of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) and the Social Solidarity Fund Against Covid-19, meals and food parcels are delivered in a logistical distribution network developed in collaboration with partnering entities to reach beneficiaries across the country.
