SCCI Implements Precautionary Measures for Safety of Employees and Customers

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, SCCI, has intensified its efforts for the prevention of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) through the implementation of a package of precautionary practices for the safety of employees and customers and in line with the preventive measures taken by the UAE in this regard.

Awareness-Raising Programs

Maryam Saif Al Shamsi, Assistant General Director, Support Services Sector of the SCCI, underlined that the SCCI is keen on the health and safety of its employees and customers, pointing to a series of awareness-raising guidelines are being carried out about the proper and healthy methods to prevent the spread of COVID-19, besides sanitizing and disinfecting departments and sections at the SCCI’s main building and branches.

“Preventive measures have also been implemented in customer happiness centers, including distributing gloves to customers and employees, sterilizing of all external points and inside the departments, canceling the fingerprint device, and implementing the remote working system for the elderly employees, pregnant employees and those with chronic diseases,” she pointed out.

“Our remote working system is well-prepared for such circumstances, thanks to SCCI’s advanced technological infrastructure. The use of some electronic programs and apps has already been started, including programs for remote meetings between employees, partners, and customers,”

The SCCI has also suspended its fitness club, the “Seventy Fitness & Spa Lounge” until further notice, as part of its preventive measures for the safety of its subscribers and society at large.

Al Shamsi added: “The SCCI has called on the business community and customers to use its smart platforms and app for the completion of the transactions of certificates of origin, attestations, memberships and a number of other electronic services without the need to come in person to the SCCI headquarters or its various branches in the Emirate of Sharjah.”

Furthermore, the SCCI has recently announced that all customers can use the mobile office service “You call, We arrive” free of charge, as part of the chamber’s efforts to provide value-added services and to improve the business environment.

In the same vein, the SCCI underlined that it strives to underpin the private sector in the Emirate of Sharjah in light of the spread of COVID-19, as well as to reinforce Sharjah’s status as a premium destination for investment and to scale up the quality of services provided to its partners from public and private sectors.
