Reem Acra highlighted that the designs should portray strength, modernity and openness, while also remaining appropriate for the workplace. The contestants were faced with an added challenge when Reem Acra asked them to collaboratively create a dress in pairs, portraying a single idea split between two distinct designs elements.

The first group, which included Nadim Nemr from Lebanon and Tatyana Aceeva from Jordan, designed their joint dress with a ‘Twin Concept’ which earned Nadim Nemr three stars but no offers from By contrast, Tatyana Aceeva won four stars and an initial AED 18,000 offer supplemented by an additional AED 20,250, bringing her total offer to  an impressive AED 38,250.

Samar Nasr El Din from Saudi Arabia and Samir Kerzabi from Algeria were in the second group, and disagreed on colour choice at the outset but eventually presented a joint design that did not meet with the judges’ approval. The judges criticised Samir Kerzabi for failing to deliver designs that captured the concept, sending him to the elimination zone with only one star. The Saudi contestant fared considerably better and was awarded four stars and two offers worth AED 18,000 and AED 21,600, beating Tatyana Aceeva with a total of AED 39,600.

The third group saw Joyce Saadeh from Lebanon and Adin Belmahdi from Algeria presenting their designs. Joyce Saadeh’s design appealed to the judges and won four stars but no offers, while Adin Belmahdi won four stars in addition to an AED 18,000 offer.
