In 3-Day International Neuro Surgery Conference, in the presence of international delegates, Professor of Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences and Lahore General Hospital Unit 2 Dr. Khalid Mahmud gave live training of Endoscopy Operations. All the participants were delighted with the professional capabilities and expertise of Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmud who also read his research papers and threw light on the complicated cases. He said that in the past Pakistani doctors had to go abroad for training while now our doctors share their experiences in other countries.  Prof. Dr.

Khalid Mahmud said that especially in Endoscopy we are ahead of developed countries.  He called upon the young doctors to opt modern techniques and provide best possible medical facilities to the patients.

It is mentionable that apart from Pakistan this Neuro Surgeons Conference was attended by USA, KSA, Korea, Nepal, Russia, Italy, and Check Republic who shared their experiences. Surgical Anatomy, Brain Path and Synonasal came under discussion while Skype sessions were held to demonstrate Endoscopy Tumor Biapsy and live surgery was undertaken. Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmud claimed that without opening head brain tumors are removed in Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences of Lahore General Hospital where this facility is totally free for poor patients.  He told that in this process very less blood is wasted while patient has also to spend minimum time in the hospital. He said state of the art facilities are available in the Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences where complicated operations are undertaken in large number. Endoscopic skull base work shop was held at liaqat National hospital karachi from 15th to 17th feb 2018 under chairmanship of Renowned Neurosurgeon Dr salman Sharif. The workshop had prestigious faculty of Neurosurgeons consisting of Prof Vladimir Benes  from Prague, prof Gieussipi cinnali from Italy, youen Kim from Korea , Iype cherien from Nepal, Azam Ahmed from USA and Prof Khalid Mahmood from Punjab institute of Neuroscience Lahore Pakistan. There were 50 trainees and consultants in Neurosurgery as participants from all over Pakistan. The proceedings of this Neurosurgery moot will go a long way in promoting minimal invasive endoscopic skull base Neurosurgery in Pakistan.
