Crowds Gather at Opening Weekend of First-ever Dar Al Zain Festival

  • Festival opened to power-packed performances by Arab A-List celebrities Myriam Fares and Mohammed Al Shehhi on Thursday 14th and Friday, December 15th

Organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, the first-ever Dar Al Zain Festival was launched yesterday (Thursday, December 14) at the Al Ain Convention Centre, and opened to crowds of guests across the Emirate eager to experience the exciting line-up of all-day and evening events packed with entertainment, shopping and food activities. Sheikh Saeed bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan visited the opening day of Dar Al Zain Festival with HE Sultan Al Mutawa Al Dhaheri, Executive Director of Tourism Sector at the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi. The festival kick-started with thrilling performances by Arab superstar Myriam Fares and will present a performance by Emirati Aritst Mohamed Al Shehhi today (Friday).

The festival will run until December 23, featuring a host of shows and activations to entertain guests. A curated programme for kids promise 20 interactive and educational shows, including Iftah Ya Simsim, Looney Tunes and My Little Pony.  Visitors will also be able to tuck into delicious food from more than 30 operators from both kiosks and food trucks and enjoy shopping from over 45 market stalls in the flagship retail zone. Guests can also experience the flagship Glow Theme Tunnel and Maze – a celebration of light and colour presenting Instagrammers in the crowd with breathtaking photo opportunities.

The festival will conclude on Saturday, December 23th with performances by Arab stars, Balqees on Friday, December 22nd, and Majid Al Mouhandis on the festival’s closing day. Moreover, regional bands will also be performing throughout the festival, including Harget Kart, Arnabeat, Carl & The Reda Mafia, and Adel Ibrahim.

The Dar Al Zain Festival will run from Thursday 14th – Saturday 23rd December, from 4pm to 12am during weekdays, and 2pm to 12am during weekends.

Adult tickets are AED 30 on weekends and AED 15 on weekdays. Children under 12 years can enter for AED 15 only, while those aged 6 and under can get in free. Groups of five or more will benefit from a 20% discount on tickets.
