CHIEF MINISTER VISITS RESIDENCE OF MARTYRED COL. SOHAIL ABID FOR CONDOLENCE

The Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif went to the residence of Shaheed Col. Sohail Abid at Bobri Angori near Bara Kahu and met his family members. He paid tributes to the great sacrifice of Col. Shoail Abid and offered *Fateha* for the departed soul. Chief Minister condoled with Muhammad Ahmed Salar,  son of Col. Sohail Abid and said that his father is a national hero who has sacrificed his life for safeguarding the lives of a number of innocent people. He said that nation is proud of its sons and their sacrifices will never be forgotten. He said that Jawans and officers of armed forces of Pakistan who have rendered their lives for the defense of the country are national pride and the crowns of our heads. He said that Pakistan army is fully committed under the leadership of Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa for the defense of geographical boundaries of the country and nefarious designs of anti-Pakistan elements are being foiled by the army by taking effective and prompt measures. He said that armed forces have played a pivotal role for the eradication of terrorism from the country, maintenance of law and order and national stability and the nation gives great importance to the sacrifices rendered by the armed forces. He said that Col. Sohail Abid Shaheed has set an example by taking part in an operation against the terrorists and our military history is full of such great examples of sacrifices.

Chief Minister said that successful operations for maintaining peace in Karachi, Swat, Malakand, southern Waziristan, FATA and tribal areas are a proof of successful efforts made against the terrorists all over the country. These operations are also a proof of professional competence, abilities and commitment of the armed forces. As a result of these efforts, peace has been restored and the anti-state elements which were trying to create disturbance have been silenced. He said that commitment and passion of the people are high and they are standing with the armed forces to eradicate terrorism from the country. The nefarious enemy cannot achieve its evil objectives and the people as well as the armed forces are ever ready to defeat the enemy like a solid rock. The Chief Minister announced to name Angori Road after Col. Sohail Abid Shaheed.
