Orange County, California is an exciting west-coast destination that offers visitors a wide range of cultural experiences, from high-tech amusement to historical sites to world-class performing arts and more. Here is a two-day itinerary to get you some ideas to explore The OC’s family-friendly and entertainment capital:

Day One

Morning
Buena Park, located 12 miles northwest of downtown Santa Ana, is home to one of California’s most historic welcome centers. The Stage Stop Hotel was built in 1890, and today it is known as the home of the official Welcome Center Orange County. Located at 6601 Beach Blvd, you can get directions, brochures, maps, information about restaurants, local attractions, parking tips and more. The center is easily found just off the 5 and 91 freeways, and is open at 9am seven days a week.

Next, head on over to spend your day in Orange County at Knott’s Berry Farm, where an all-day adventure awaits with something for everyone! Thrill-seekers can brave some of the wildest coasters on the West Coast, take in some family-friendly live entertainment, and experience the latest amusement park technology with the Voyage to the Iron Reef, a brand new 4-D ride.

Knott’s Berry Farm even has something for the shopper in your group, send them straight to one of the many on-site shopping villages.

Noon
Ready to add some food to your fun adventure? Knott’s Berry Farm offers special all-day-dining deals as well as several dining locations throughout the park.

Afternoon/Evening 
If you’re still up for more fun, take your family or group to a live show. Show times are listed online, and several shows are available throughout the day.

Day Two

Morning
Each year, Knott’s Berry Farm adds a special theme or experience to the park. Check out what’s new this year, and head on down for some morning fun.

Late Morning/Afternoon
You don’t have to look far to cool off in the summer, Knott’s Soak City Water Park is located across from the theme park and offers 16 speed, tube and body slides. Cabana Rentals are available to accommodate up to 14 guests at a time, giving your group a place to rest and relax in between soaks and splashes in the water park. Soak City has several dining locations within the park for your convenience.

Evening
It’s time to explore Buena Park Downtown, a shopping, dining and entertainment destination that includes restaurants, a movie metroplex, and more. VisitBuenaPark.com provides a list of sightseeing tours and excursions if you like to keep moving until the sun goes down.

If you want to explore more of Buena Park, consider staying at a few Buena Park hotels and inns. The accomocations are ideal for family travelers or those looking for comfort. Plus, many hotels offer free shuttles to major attractions like Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm. From Buena Park, that is less than a 15 minute drive to fun.

If you’re saying goodbye to Buena Park and would like to head back to the ocean before you leave Orange County, The Waterfront Beach Resort, A Hilton Hotel, is located just 15 miles south. Stay on Beach Blvd for approximately 14 miles, then turn right onto CA-1. The Resort is located at 21100 Pacific Coast Hwy, Huntington Beach, CA.
