Anghami produces a song, launches playlist of 1.2 million tracks to support World’s Tallest Donation Box

Anghami announced the production of a song and launch of a 1.2 million songs playlist to inspire listeners to support Covid-19-hit communities through the World’s Tallest Donation Box.

The digital music streaming platform produced the song titled “Stronger Together,” performed by Khalifa el Naser and Mojo, in support of the humanitarian initiative. Revenues generated from the song streams will be donated to Covid-19-hit individuals and families.

A ‘donate’ button added on the platform enabled millions of users across the GCC to provide meals for Covid-19 relief directly through the initiative’s website

The playlist of 1.2 million songs reflects the amount of meals and food parcels that will be secured by the end of the campaign.

Launched last week by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) in collaboration with Burj Khalifa, the World’s Tallest Donation Box enables companies, entities and the public to purchase lights of Burj Khalifa, for as little as Dh10 each.

For every light purchased for Dh10, one meal is provided to someone affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, with the ultimate goal to illuminate Burj Khalifa’s 1.2 million lights and secure 1.2 million meals to the ’10 million meals’ campaign.

Elie Abou Saleh, vice president of Anghami in the GCC, said, “We are part of a community, and today more than ever we are called to do more. With the help of our production studio, we created a song that speaks to the heart to inspire people to join our efforts in supporting others that are in need. All revenue generated from this track will be donated.”

Ways to get involved

Companies and individuals can buy Burj Khalifa’s lights, for as little as Dh10 each, on the website to provide meals for the vulnerable amid the pandemic.

Donors can also provide meals through the ’10 million meals’ campaign by contributing on the website or via SMS (Etisalat and Du) to numbers listed on the website. Donors can make a transfer to ’10 million meals’ campaign bank account at Dubai Islamic Bank with IBAN no.:AE430240001580857000001.

Donors also have the chance to provide packaged or canned food supplies or arrange food parcels for distribution through directly contacting the campaign’s organizing team on the toll-free number 8004006.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced the launch of the ’10 million meals’ campaign earlier in April to provide food support to families and individuals affected by the Covid-19 pandemic that left many facing unemployment and income reductions.

The campaign is led by his wife Her Highness Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of UAE Food Bank.
