Satwinder Sembi (SGSC) won the Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club Summer Senior Open supported by Altitude Physiotherapy on Saturday, producing 38 Stableford points. Satwinder’s score was enough to seal a 2 point winning margin against a field of 33 golfers, all aged 50 and above, in a 3pm shotgun that offered participants the best possible reprieve from the inevitable July heat.
All the days winners were members of the host venue with Shaheen Butt taking runner up spot (36 points) and SGSC Scratch League Team member Ramli Sulaiman completing the podium on 35 points. Other winners included John Mills, who took best gross (30 points) and Korean No Ma Yeou who took the Super Senior title (60 years and above) on 32 points.
Sembi received a trophy for his efforts along with 5 physiotherapy sessions at Altitude Physiotherapy, a new addition to SGSC’s service portfolio. All 5 winners took home between 6 to 3 sessions with physiotherapist Anita Augustyinak who commented at the presentation “I look forward to working with a few of the senior golfers and helping them to be able swing the club better and more consistently. I have done a lot of research with SGSC PGA Teaching Professional Chris Dennis into the fundamental movements in the golf swing I am confident I can help most golfers improve their range of movement and in turn their consistency in ball striking”.
