- Fun math and science exhibit returns to UAE in recognition of the “Year of Giving” and Raytheon’s 30 years of partnership with the Emirates
Just in time for Eid, MathAlive! – the exciting and fun interactive math and science exhibit created by the Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN), will open at the Children’s City on Monday, 26 June for Dubai youth to enjoy with their parents during the upcoming holidays.
Math Alive!’s debut in Dubai will run through the upcoming Eid holidays until mid-August. The exhibit’s return to the UAE is in recognition of the “Year of Giving” and Raytheon’s 30th anniversary of partnership with the Emirates.
Raytheon’s MathAlive! offers a range of interactive modules that demonstrate the relationship between STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) and activities such as building design, football, space travel, video games and more – bringing math and science to life for late primary and early secondary school students.
MathAlive! will receive visitors from 9:00am to 7:00pm from Sunday to Thursday and 2:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday and Saturday.
“The dynamic emirate of Dubai is recognized as a regional hub for advancing innovation and creative youth engagement to include STEM, and it is in this same spirit that we are honored to bring back our MathAlive! exhibition to the UAE,” said Chris Davis, president of Raytheon International Inc. in the UAE. “We would like to thank the Children’s City, one the most devoted centers for early age science development, for hosting the exhibit as we continue to grow our Emirati community partnership base.”
Davis added, “By hosting MathAlive!, we hope to effectively share the exciting ways that math and science relate to everyday aspects of our lives while inspiring Emirati children to actively pursue careers and studies that will contribute to a vibrant global innovation economy.”
Khalid Al Suwaidi, Director of Leisure Facilities Department at Dubai Municipality said, “We are pleased to partner with Raytheon to host the MathAlive! Exhibition, as we share a vision of engaging youth in various fields of science through innovative and entertaining activities that encourage children to explore, discover and learn about the world in which we live in.”
Al Suwaidi added, “We are confident that MathAlive! will enrich our summer activities season, and we are eagerly looking forward to welcoming families during the coming Eid holidays.”
Raytheon first launched its MathAlive! Gulf region tour four years ago with a debut at the Abu Dhabi Science Festival in partnership with the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) and the Abu Dhabi Technology Development Committee in 2013. The exhibition continued with UAE stops at the Sharjah Science Museum in partnership with Khalifa University and in Ras Al Khaimah through an event at the Higher Colleges of technology (HCT) in partnership with RAK colleges.
It has since stopped in four other GCC countries and has thrilled over 300,000 young students. Math Alive! is scheduled to return to Abu Dhabi in the late fall.Email This Post
