- An official agreement was signed to mark a partnership in support of children and young people’s education in developing countries
Palazzo Versace Dubai have joined with Dubai Cares, part of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, to sign a partnership as part of the hotel’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme ‘Palazzo Versace Engage’. An official signing was held at Palazzo Versace on Wednesday, June 7th, in the presence of Tariq Al Gurg, CEO of Dubai Cares, and Raza Jafar, CEO of Enshaa and Chairman of Palazzo Versace.
Under the terms of the partnership, Palazzo Versace Dubai will introduce an initiative whereby guests will be invited to contribute towards the initiative by making a nominal donation of AED 20 (USD 5.4) at the time of bill settlement. Funds raised will be directed towards supporting Dubai Cares’ education programs in developing countries. Moreover, Palazzo Versace Dubai is committing to adopting a school in Nepal as part of Dubai Cares’ “Adopt a School” initiative. This commitment will cover the construction of the school premises, providing book supplies, hygienic latrines and providing teacher training that will benefit 150 children and provide them the opportunity to access quality education.
Raza Jafar said “Today, I am proud of Palazzo Versace Dubai’s efforts to promote access to education among those in greatest need. When I consider the exponential impact that this partnership will have on underprivileged communities, I am increasingly optimistic about the future. Education is the greatest gift that one can bestow and it is an honour to partner with Dubai Cares, an organisation that shares our vision of making a tangible difference in the world.”
“Through the generous contribution of our valued guests, we will be contributing to the exemplary work Dubai Cares is carrying out every single day. This partnership reaffirms our commitment to engaging with the community in which we operate, as well as our efforts to make a difference,” added Jafar.
Commenting on the initiative, Tariq Al Gurg, Chief Executive Officer at Dubai Cares, said: “We are honoured to be partnering with Palazzo Versace Dubai in an effort to raise vital funds in support of our education programs in developing countries. Giving every child and young person access to a quality education helps improve their lives, reduce poverty as well as sustain economic growth. Our partnership will enable hotel guests to make a donation to Dubai Cares while settling their bill at checkout. We are proud to be implementing this fundraising model in Palazzo Versace Dubai”.
