Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation Concludes Successful Nobel Museum 2017 on Physics

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) concluded the third edition of the Nobel Museum at the Children’s City at Dubai Creek Park, where it was held for three months.

Themed “The Nobel Prize in Physics: Understanding Matter”, the Museum attracted tens of thousands of visitors of all ages and shed light on scientists, inventors, and Nobel laureates in the field of Physics, as well as on their discoveries and achievements, making it the first Nobel Museum to ever focus on physics.

For the third consecutive year, the Nobel Museum has been committed to providing scientifically inclined students with knowledge, expertise, and insight into the most important scientific achievements. The main objective is to motivate visitors to learn from these sources and then implement their newly acquired knowledge to excel and register their own achievements.

His Excellency Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF, said: “Guided by the National Agenda and UAE Vision 2021, the Foundation has succeeded, for the third year in a row, in spreading knowledge, science, and culture to all segments of UAE society, as directed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and our Chairman H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.”

The Nobel Museum 2017 hosted eight different sections, including Rays and Waves, Matter, Stars & Universe, Electronics, Quantum Physics (“A Quantum World”). The audience were also offered a chance to witness a real-life Cloud Chamber, where cosmic particles leave tracks that can be seen with the naked eye. Visitors had the chance to learn about the different Nobel laureates in the Laureate Arena, and were also able to go on a journey through the cosmos using virtual reality equipment with the museum’s VR Experience section.
