The end of Ramadan ushers in a renewed spirit of celebration, goodwill and charity amongst people. This spirit is carried forth by Salaam Namaste UAE season 2 as it touched more lives and spread bigger smiles in the UAE this week.
Host Tarana Raja meets Mr. Vipul, the Consulate General of India, Dubai & NE as he works tirelessly to make a positive impact on India-UAE relations and welfare of the Indian community. The show also reached out to few laundry men in the UAE. These men wash and clean to make old clothes look new, but never really get a second glance. In the ‘Dil Se Shukran’ segment, the team surprised them with a trip to the Max store at Oasis Mall, Dubai to pick and choose some new pairs of clothes for themselves. They also thanked them for their service and contribution to the society. Taking forward the chain of giving in the UAE, Salaam Namaste made Neelam’s wish ‘Ek Choti Si Asha’ come true by securing her child’s future. Neelam is a single mother in the UAE with a special needs child. She has faced a lot of obstacles and been through many challenges while bringing up her child. The team made her wish come true by giving her AED 10,000 to secure her child’s future, courtesy RakBank. Neelam also expressed her son’s desire to learn swimming and the team arranged for free sessions from one of the best swimming academies in Dubai – Hamilton Aquatics.
The EID special of this show highlighted the good deeds being done by Zulekha Hospital. In matters of sickness and health, it’s always better to take a second opinion. Certain diagnosis, treatment plans and surgical procedures are life-changing as they can have long-standing physical, emotional and financial after-effects. Making key decisions concerning your health under such circumstances can be extremely difficult, and that’s where Zulekha Hospital steps in to offer patients a free second opinion on medical treatments. Pink Mango Projecthas started a wonderful initiative, ‘Stationery Collection Drive’ for war-affected kids of Syria to bring some happiness in their lives. Tarana speaks to them and finds out the motivation behind all the good work they are doing. Eid is incomplete without an eidi gift. Tarana celebrated this joy a little differently this year by helping a girl gift her mother a gold bangle for Eid, courtesy Itan Jewelers. Her mother was overjoyed with this act of selflessness from the daughter. The joy and emotions you receive from such a gesture is incomparable.
