- The winning Biryani dish will be part of the menu at the award-winning Mumtaz Mahal Restaurant
Arabian Courtyard Hotel & Spa, located in the heart of the ancient cultural district of Dubai, hosted the 11th Annual Biryani Muqabla, a live cooking competition sponsored by award winning Mumtaz Mahal Restaurant.
The winning recipes will be featured as a Mumtaz Mahal Restaurant special menu and diners will have a chance to taste the delectable dish.
The Judges for the contest were renowned food critics, writer and chef namely Chef Uwe Micheel, Director of Kitchen of Radisson Blue, Chef. Glen Ferdinand, Executive Chef of Arabian Courtyard Hotel & Spa, who selected the top three winners from the 10 chosen candidates out of 200 entries forms received.

We are proud to say that every year the magnitude of the contest is growing and exceeding our expectations with a record number of entries for participation.”
The variety of contest dishes included Pot Luck Dum Biryani, Hara Pasand Biryani, Chaman Chicken Biryani, Pakistani Classic Deghi Biryani, Kofta Makhana Biryani Vegetable, Mixed Seafood Biryani, Prawns Biryani In Green Masala, Jugalband Biryani, Lazeez Panipuri Stuff and Lakeside Treasure. The participants demonstrated exceptional culinary skills in the four-hour cooking contest on the final day.
The competition is officially sponsored by J&J Sons Jewelers, one of the oldest gold and diamond jewelry traders in the Middle East region.
